What is “No Goal 4” in Football Betting?
“No Goal 4” is a type of total goals bet. It means you are betting that the match will NOT have exactly 4 goals scored in total (by both teams combined).
- If the match ends with exactly 4 goals, you lose the bet.
- If the match ends with 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6… goals, you win the bet.
This is also sometimes called “Total Goals: Not 4” in some betting platforms.
Example with a Team
Let’s use Manchester United vs Liverpool as an example:
- Suppose you bet “No Goal 4” on this match.
- Scenarios:
- Final score 1-1 → total goals = 2 → You win
- Final score 2-2 → total goals = 4 → You lose
- Final score 3-1 → total goals = 4 → You lose
- Final score 2-1 → total goals = 3 → You win
Notice: The total number of goals matters, not which team scores them.
When to Use “No Goal 4” Bets
This type of bet is often used when:
- The teams are defensive or inconsistent in scoring.
- Recent matches rarely end with exactly 4 goals.
- You want a safer alternative to exact goal bets like “Over 3.5” (which requires at least 4 goals to win).
Betting Tips
- Check team stats
- Look at the last 5–10 matches of both teams. Count how often matches end with exactly 4 goals.
- If it’s rare, “No Goal 4” can be a good value bet.
- Check head-to-head stats
- Some rivalries tend to produce high-scoring matches (e.g., Liverpool vs Arsenal often hits 4+ goals).
- Avoid “No Goal 4” if historical matches often end with 4 goals.
- Consider league averages
- Some leagues like Serie A are low-scoring → “No Goal 4” is safer.
- Some leagues like Bundesliga are high-scoring → more risky.
