Over 5.5 in Darts Game Sport Betting

In sports betting for darts, the term “Over 5.5” typically refers to a total market, most often:

“Over 5.5 Legs” or “Over 5.5 Sets”

Depending on the format of the match, this market can be applied in the following ways:

1. Over 5.5 Legs

  • You’re betting that more than 5 legs will be played in a match or a specific set.
  • This means 6 or more legs must be completed for your bet to win.

Example:

  • Player A vs Player B
  • If the match goes 4–2 in legs, that’s 6 legs played →  “Over 5.5 Legs” wins

2. Over 5.5 Sets

  • You’re betting that more than 5 sets will be played in the match.
  • So, the match must go to at least a 6th set for your bet to win.

Example:

  • In a “Best of 7 Sets” format, the match goes 4–2 → Over 5.5 Sets” wins
  • If it’s a quick 4–0 result → bet loses

Always Check:

  • Whether the line refers to legs or sets
  • The format of the match (e.g., Best of 5 Legs per set, Best of 7 Sets in the match, etc.)
