(-4.5) In Badminton Sports Betting  Explained

In badminton sports betting, a handicap of (-4.5) means the favored player or team must win by more than 4.5 points for your bet to win.

How It Works:

  • The (-4.5) handicap is subtracted from the final score of the favored player/team.
  • After applying the handicap, if they still have more points, your bet wins.
  • If not, your bet loses.

Example:

Match Result:

  • Player A: 21-18, 21-17 → Total points = 42
  • Player B: 35 points total

You bet on Player A (-4.5)

Now apply the handicap:

37.5 > 35 → Your bet wins

  • Player A: 42 – 4.5 = 37.5
  • Player B: 35

If Player A won by fewer points:

  • Player A: 21-19, 21-20 → Total = 42
  • Player B: 40

Apply the handicap:

  • 42 – 4.5 = 37.5
  • Player B: 40

37.5< 40 → your bet loses
